You can import by choosing "Add" at the top, which will not move or copy the files. Just keep in mind that you'll only be able to edit the original files if the drive is attached. Do keep in mind, if you choose to build Smart Previews (in the File Handling tab on the right), you can bo basic editing and browsing on the photos even when the drive is offline.    ... View more

Hi @dfoxmi ,   Assuming you imported your photos to Lightroom "In place," without copying them to another location, you can add the top level folders. Just right click on of your Folders in the Folder panel, and choose "Show Parent Folder."   You could repeat this multiple times if you have a heirarchy. For example, my photos are organized as                    E:\somepath\Originals\Year\yyyy-mm-dd\   Which is one of the default ways of asking Lightroom to import. Hi @marthaboggins ,   After watching your video and trying again on my Windows machine, I have been able to duplicate this erratic behavior, after clicking in and out of the stencil tools several times. Sometimes it works as expected, sometimes the UI is incorrect but the stencil works, and sometimes it just plain does not work.   As a workaround I found that changing from the circle stencil to the square stencil and back returned the functionality.   @Anubhav M please take note of the video above and let me know if you have any additional request for information.   Thanks, Mike ... Hi @PapiPhilou I watched your video, and I thought maybe it might have something to do with the fact you are using a vector brush while I'm using pixel brushes for testing. But, I tried to duplicate this and still I'm unable to duplicate this on either iPad or Windows. For me, it works on both.   However, @Anubhav M  I did notice a difference between iPad and Windows. When you toggle to stencil mode in iPad, the handles disappear and it's clear you are in stencil drawing mode. However, in Windows, the sizing handles remain visible in both stencil and sizing modes. ... View more

It's really up to you, how you work and how well you can see 🙂 Keep in mind that when viewing a document and zooming to 100%, the image will look smaller on a higher resolution monitor (assuming the monitors are the same size, like 27"). The pixels are closer together. So, if you like to pixel peep at 100%, the pixels are smaller on a 4K monitor of equal size.   Some people have trouble with the user interface on higher resolution monitors. LrC and Lr have adjustments in Preferences to scale the UI elements so that may be something you consider using on higher resolution monitors.   Perhaps if you share some of the pros and cons that have confused you, we can offer additional comments to help understand those considerations. ... Can you describe a little more about your setup? What device/OS are you using? What process are you using to merge the layers?   I tried merging two vector layers on my iPad (Fresco v 6.6.1), and also on Windows 11 (Fresco v 5.5.5 and, after updating, v 5.7.0), and the results were that the merged layer retained its vector properties. Make sure that the laptop is not running Lightroom while you're trying to import, as it will have the files open and may be locking out the desktop. Also, make sure that if you have OneDrive set to "Files on Demand" (this is now the default) that you navigate to the catalog on the dekstop, right click your catalog file, and choose "Always keep on this device." If you don't, OneDrive may make this an "online" file (with a cloud icon as shown below) and will not download a local copy until you try to access it (which could cause an error trying to access it).   ... @BorisTheBlade the 1x shot against the sun seems to have edge alisasing of some sort, it's razor edge and lines.  One crop view is as is when imported to lightroom and the other is with adjustments.  I am not sure if this is caused by missed focus, missalignment, or aliasing as I mentioned. By @nhan_8084   The is chromatic aberration, and is common when you have backlit edges - showing up as purple or green edges. This is normally seen in backlit and especially wider angle SLR photography, and is easily removed in Lightroom's lens correction panel. You can surely use Adobe fonts or any other font to create stickers. However, you're better off creating the stickers themselves in Adobe Illustrator. Start with the font you've chosen, then create a cut line by offsetting the type path. I believe this is the standard behavior. As far back as I can remember, Lens Corrections, Transform and Crop changes are not shown in the "Before" and "After" comparison. This applies to all versions of Lightroom Classic, Desktop and Mobile. Can you provide some details of the file sizes you're using and provide some screen shots?   In general, adding a shape  or silhouette into Illustrator, I've found that you're better off with either image trace or with drawing over the image with vector tools. ... @jane-e , removing the script file disables the Acrobat PDFMaker from the toolbar in the MS Office application (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc).    The problem is that the file is installed with permissions only for "root" and needs to have the permissions opened up for lwer level user access. I haven't yet found the "right" way to do this, but I believe it's a bug in the installation scripts.
